Seminar Abstract: This seminar discusses green/sustainable supply chains – a hot topic at the forefront of today’s supply chain management, and shares some of my current research projects and interests in this area. In particular, I will discuss two of my recent articles. The first one is on forging high-quality virtual enterprises in a reverse supply chain through solution portfolios, and the other paper discusses reusable mobile phone supply chain design, decision and collaboration.
Speaker’s Short Bio:
Dr. Amy Z. Zeng (azeng@wpi.edu) Dr. Amy Z. Zeng is currently a Full Professor, Associate Dean and Director of Operations and Industrial Engineering Program at the FoisieSchool of Business of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts. She is also the co-founder and co-director of the China Hub at WPI. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from University of Washington, and a B.S. in Industrial Management Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Her research interests center on supply chain and global logistics. Dr. Zeng has published over ninety articles in peer reviewed academic journals, books and conference proceedings, delivered nearly a hundred speeches at a wide range of occasions, and led numerous research and teaching innovation projects. Additionally, Dr. Zeng has consulted companies with respect to global supply chain and logistics management, lean principles implementation, quality management, inventory and materials management, and process ****ysis and capacity planning.
